THE VIRTUAL BRANCH OF THE RUSSIAN MUSEUM IS OPEN!
In October 2009 in the Turku Adult Education Centre the Virtual Branch of the Russian Museum was opened. For citizens of Turku it is now a possibility to be introduced to Russian art treasures via multimedia programs and video. The Russian Museum collection owns over 400,000 pieces of art. This collection represents Russian art from the 10th centaury to present day.
The Virtual Branch’s open days are in spring 2010 in the Turku Adult Education Centre, (Kaskenkatu 5, 5th floor, Auditorium.) The open days are: 19.01, 16.02, and 16.03 from 16.00 - 17.30. Next spring the theme for a series of lectures will be titled ‘The Wanderers.’ In this series of lectures the group of artists called Peredvizhniki will be discussed.
